GJS MUSIC WORKS
AT WORK

Until March of this year I ran a recording studio in Philadelphia, were I'd been exposed to artists of many different genres. I have since moved my recording studios to Chicago,
were I continue to work with old clients back east, at the same time making some new connections.  One I'm very excited  about is a short film noir called "Stiletto" by Hesperidian productions.  I wrote the trailer and teaser music for it, now it's time to do the whole film.  It should be out in early 2012, so look for it.  You can find my music all over the web @ http://www.flavors.me/gjsmusic

Music for the Koresh Dance Company

"Composing for Modern Dance is always a challenge.  You have to think about what makes the dancers move, and how to create a mood without drawing attention away from the choreography.  It's even harder when the choreographer has something specific in mind.  You have to get inside their head and try and hear what they hear to interpret their vision.  This usually leads to some crazy sessions." THE ILLUMINATION SERIES

"This series highlights my instrumental work over the past 12 years or so.  I call it "Illumination" because some of the songs are older works, and many different production techniques were utilized in their creation.  When listening to these tracks I get a real sense of where I was as a composer and musician and how I have developed over the years.  As an artist I feel it is important to remember where you come from, as the past creates our building blocks of the future."

Missing Trooth makes cover story

"Jake Lefco's "Missing Trooth" makes the Philadelphia City Paper's cover story.  I engineered this album for Karma Response Unit Records, and helped with the production.   It's a solid piece with strong beats and real believable lyrics, hallmarks of Jake's writing style and Happ G's musical Production.  We had a great time making this one, with lots of guest appearances, and backing crowd tracks recorded by anyone who Happ G could get his hands on.  There was always someone doing something."   Greg Smith     To view the article Click Here
