"Composing for Modern Dance is always a challenge. You have to think about what makes the dancers move, and how to create a mood without drawing attention away from the choreography. It's even harder when the choreographer has something specific in mind. You have to get inside their head and try and hear what they hear to interpret their vision. This usually leads to some crazy sessions." Click here for more |

"This series highlights my instrumental work over the past 12 years or so. I call it "Illumination" because some of the songs are older works, and many different production techniques were utilized in their creation. When listening to these tracks I get a real sense of where I was as a composer and musician and how I have developed over the years. As an artist I feel it is important to remember where you come from, as the past creates our building blocks of the future." |

"Jake Lefco's "Missing Trooth" makes the Philadelphia City Paper's cover story. I engineered this album for Karma Response Unit Records, and helped with the production. It's a solid piece with strong beats and real believable lyrics, hallmarks of Jake's writing style and Happ G's musical Production. We had a great time making this one, with lots of guest appearances, and backing crowd tracks recorded by anyone who Happ G could get his hands on. There was always someone doing something."
